Explore 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. Everything mentioned below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising features. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a little (It is treated as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer stated. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards outside of your main deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards who could work as your commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area instead of just one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (for building your deck)

  • 1 Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
